Training
All Materials Consultants technicians are extensively trained to a high level of competency to perform the tests for which we are accredited. Technicians must also successfully complete a radiation health and safety training course to attain a license for operation of Nuclear Density/Moisture Gauge, the industry standard used for compaction control testing.

NATA Signatory Status
Technicians are trained in methods and systems with the aim of becoming recognised as an Approved NATA Signatory. This process requires that technicians are extensively trained in the areas of testing they are to be assessed. After gaining the necessary experience by performing the tests to be assessed, they are subjected to a Technical Assessment and NATA for a Signatory Interview.

Approval as NATA Signatory ensures that:
  • A technician is competent in performing the test,
  • Has knowledge and understanding of why the test is undertaken, and
  • Can calculate and report the results of the test, signing off that the reported results are true and accurate.

Becoming a NATA Signatory ensures that technicians know the moral and legal obligations associated with performing and reporting the test/s.
